Hi John, Nice!(?) But I asked myself, what does "508" mean? And why should I enable it? I found the answer by using google. 508 refers to "Section 508 Amendment to the Rehabilitation Act of 1973", which is changed in 1998 to “require Federal agencies to make their electronic and information technology accessible to people with disabilities” . There is a separate section (1194.22) with 16 rules for Web-based intranet and internet information and applications (http://www.accessible.org/section-508-compliance.html#Web). Apparently, the drop-down menu isn't "508 compliant" and that’s why you can change the drop-downmenu into separate links.
