In the datasource block we made a very simple query which determines which TNS to uses based on the time of the day:
We forced a refresh every 10 minutes by setting the "lifespan" of the block:
In the connection pool you make a reference by using the VALUEOF method:
n theory it takes a maximum of 15 minutes (10 minutes for "REP_IB_TNS", 5 minutes for the connection pool) to refresh all connections

there is some function GoNav and GoNavEx and i am trying with them but not getting any result.
it will be very helpful if you can tell me how to do this
Hi Sandeep,
You can find the documentation at otn.oracle.com. GoNavEx isn't an OBIEE function. If you want to do some java stuff have a look at the Oracle® Business Intelligence Web
Services Guide.

Also have a look at the GoURL function.

Hello John
This question is not much pertaining to what you have published in this specific blog entry, but I could find no other way to contact you, and could use some help. I am very junior in my company, and have just gotten some Oracle sanctioned OBIEE training (Create reports/dashboards)...When I got home from training, I downloaded the OBIEE suite from OTN, and installed it on my external. Now I want to figure out how to build a database that I can then roll up into a data warehouse using Informatica. I would also like to get into some more of the admin portions of the software. I was hoping you could help me out a little with this, or point me in the direction of some pertinent documentation to help me get started. Feel free to email me back at frick.brian@gmail.com, or post back here, I'll check back in a couple of days.
